1:1 Therapy

No two people are the same, so therapy shouldn't be either. At Imprint of Life, I offer a personalised, integrative approach that draws on a range of evidence-based therapeutic models, tailoring each session to your unique experiences, goals, and needs.

At the heart of my practice is a person-centred philosophy. This means therapy is built on trust, compassion, and acceptance, providing a safe, non-judgemental space where you can explore your thoughts, emotions, and experiences at your own pace.

I also work from a pluralistic perspective, recognising that there is no single approach that works for everyone. Together, we decide what feels most helpful, combining different therapeutic methods to create a way of working that is right for you.

Many of the challenges we experience later in life have roots in earlier experiences, patterns, or beliefs. Rather than simply managing symptoms, we work to understand the root cause of emotional distress, helping to create meaningful and lasting change.

As a mind-body and somatic therapist, I recognise that emotional experiences are not only held in the mind but also within the body. Stress, trauma, grief, and life transitions can affect our nervous system, often showing up physically as tension, fatigue, pain, or overwhelm. Through gentle somatic techniques and increased body awareness, therapy can help regulate the nervous system, reconnect you with yourself, and support healing from the inside out.

Your personal history matters. Using life story and narrative approaches, we can explore the experiences that have shaped who you are, make sense of significant life events, and discover new perspectives that honour your strengths while supporting the next chapter of your life.

Where appropriate, I also integrate practical, evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) to identify and challenge unhelpful thinking patterns, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) to strengthen emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal skills, and Solution-Focused Therapy to build on your existing strengths, identify achievable goals, and create positive change.

Whether you are navigating retirement, bereavement, changing relationships, caregiving, identity, health challenges, or simply seeking greater fulfilment, therapy offers a confidential space to understand yourself more deeply, build resilience, and move forward with confidence.

Together, we will create an approach that supports your wellbeing, respects your lived experience, and empowers you to live with greater purpose, balance, and emotional freedom.

Therapy for Young People (Aged 16+)

As a parent, it can be heart-breaking to watch your teenager struggle and feel unsure how to help. You may notice changes in their mood, behaviour, confidence, or relationships, yet every conversation seems to end with, "I'm fine."

The teenage years and transition into adulthood can be overwhelming. Academic pressures, social media, friendships, family changes, identity, and uncertainty about the future can all take a toll on emotional wellbeing. Sometimes young people need someone outside the family to talk to—a safe, independent person who will listen without judgement.

I provide one-to-one therapy for young people aged 16 and over, offering a confidential and supportive space where they can explore their thoughts, feelings, and experiences at their own pace.

Therapy can help with a wide range of issues, including:

  • Bullying and the emotional impact of feeling excluded or unsafe

  • School, college, university, or exam-related stress

  • Friendship and relationship difficulties

  • Family conflict, separation, or changes at home

  • Anxiety, low mood, panic, or overwhelming worries

  • Low self-esteem, confidence, and identity

  • Fear, uncertainty, and major life changes

  • Emotional regulation and coping with difficult feelings

  • Self-harm and developing healthier ways to manage emotional distress

  • Loss, grief, and bereavement

My approach is warm, compassionate, and tailored to each young person's individual needs. Drawing on person-centred, somatic, and evidence-based therapeutic approaches, I help young people understand what they are experiencing, develop healthy coping strategies, strengthen resilience, and build confidence in themselves.

Parents are an important part of the journey. While therapy remains confidential to create trust and safety, I work collaboratively with families where appropriate, ensuring everyone feels supported while respecting your young person's privacy.

Seeking support early can make a significant difference. Therapy can help your teenager feel heard, understood, and better equipped to navigate life's challenges—both now and in the future.
