'A professional, compassionate home-visiting service combining therapeutic conversation, emotional wellbeing support and meaningful companionship.'

Helping older adults feel heard, valued and connected.

Growing older brings many changes. Whether you're experiencing loneliness, bereavement, reduced confidence, retirement, changes in health, or simply feel life has become quieter, having someone alongside you can make a real difference.

At Imprint of Life, I offer compassionate home-based support that combines professional therapeutic experience with genuine companionship.

Every person deserves to be listened to, respected and supported in living a meaningful life.

Home-Based Wellbeing Visits

Compassionate therapeutic support in the comfort of your own home

At Imprint of Life, I offer home-based wellbeing visits for older adults who would benefit from emotional support, meaningful companionship and a trusted professional relationship.

Life can bring many changes, including bereavement, loneliness, retirement, changes in health, reduced confidence or simply feeling isolated. My visits provide the opportunity to talk openly, feel heard and enjoy genuine connection in familiar surroundings.

Each visit is relaxed, unhurried and tailored to your individual needs. Together we may spend time talking, reflecting on life's experiences, sharing a cup of tea, enjoying your garden or taking a gentle walk. My therapeutic training allows me to support emotional wellbeing while providing companionship that is warm, respectful and person-centred.

Whether you are seeking support for yourself or arranging visits for a loved one, my aim is to help people feel valued, connected and supported in maintaining independence and quality of life.

Support for Families

Supporting an ageing parent or loved one can bring many emotions. You may be balancing work, family life and your own responsibilities whilst wanting to know that someone important to you is safe, supported and not facing life's challenges alone.

Regular visits from a familiar, trusted professional provide reassurance that your loved one has someone who genuinely knows them—someone who takes the time to listen, build a meaningful relationship and notice when something doesn't seem quite right.

As a qualified counsellor and practising psychotherapist, I bring a depth of understanding that goes beyond companionship alone. My therapeutic training enables me to recognise subtle emotional and psychological changes, respond with sensitivity, and provide support that promotes wellbeing, dignity and independence.

During visits I may notice:

✔ Changes in mood or confidence

✔ Increasing anxiety or worry

✔ Grief and loss

✔ Social withdrawal or loneliness

✔ Loss of purpose or motivation

✔ Changes in relationships or family dynamics

✔ Early signs that additional support may be beneficial

✔ Concerns relating to wellbeing or safeguarding

These observations are not about replacing healthcare professionals, carers or family members. Rather, they help ensure that emotional wellbeing is recognised alongside physical health, allowing concerns to be identified early and, where appropriate, discussed sensitively with the client and, with their consent, their family.

My aim is to work in partnership with families, offering reassurance and peace of mind whilst respecting each person's independence, dignity and right to make their own choices.

Confidentiality

Trust is at the heart of every relationship. The person I support is my client, and their privacy and dignity will always be respected. With the client's agreement, I am happy to share general updates that provide reassurance to family members. However, personal conversations remain confidential unless there is consent to share information or I have a professional duty of care to act where there are concerns about safety, wellbeing or capacity. This balance helps create trusting relationships whilst giving families confidence that their loved one is receiving ethical, compassionate and professional support.

Why Later Life Wellbeing Support Matters

Growing older can bring many positive experiences, but it can also involve significant change and loss. Adjusting to retirement, bereavement, changes in health, reduced mobility, caring responsibilities or living alone can have a profound impact on emotional wellbeing.

Despite this, many older adults do not access counselling or emotional support. This may be because they:

  • Believe they should simply "get on with it"

  • Worry about being a burden to others

  • Feel there is a stigma attached to talking about mental health

  • Have difficulty travelling to appointments

  • Experience reduced confidence or increasing isolation

  • Find traditional counselling settings unfamiliar or inaccessible

  • Believe emotional distress is simply a normal part of ageing

Research and professional guidance recognise that emotional wellbeing is just as important in later life as it is at any other stage of life. Feeling listened to, understood and connected can improve confidence, reduce loneliness and support people to adapt to life's changes whilst maintaining independence and dignity.

Home-based Wellbeing Visits help remove many of these barriers by bringing professional support into the comfort and familiarity of a person's own home.

Visits provide the opportunity to build a trusting relationship over time, offering emotional support, meaningful conversation and a consistent presence. They also enable subtle changes in wellbeing to be recognised early, helping families and individuals access additional support if it becomes appropriate.

At Imprint of Life, I believe every person deserves to feel heard, valued and emotionally supported throughout every stage of life.
